This was such a fun and well-balanced way to discover Almaty. I liked that the tour was not only about food, but also about the city itself — the park, the cathedral, the bazaar, and the walk along Panfilov Street made the whole experience feel much richer. The tastings were varied and felt carefully chosen, with a nice mix of traditional flavors and sweeter stops later in the route. Zeleny Bazar was one of my favorite parts because it gave a more local, everyday feel to the tour. By the end, I felt I had a much better sense of Almaty's atmosphere, not just its food scene.

A really enjoyable introduction to Kazakh food and city life. We booked this tour on one of our first days in Almaty, and it turned out to be a great decision because it helped us understand both the local cuisine and the layout of the central area. The route was easy to follow and included several interesting landmarks, so it never felt like just walking from one tasting to another. I especially liked the contrast between the market atmosphere at Zeleny Bazar and the more elegant stop near the opera and ballet theatre. The Rakhat stop was also a nice finish. A very relaxed and memorable experience overall.

We had a lovely time on this walking tour. It felt very natural and unforced, which I appreciated. Sometimes food tours can be too scripted, but this one had a nice rhythm: small historical details, a bit of city atmosphere, and then another food stop or tasting. The area around Panfilov Park and Ascension Cathedral was beautiful, and the bazaar added so much color and energy to the route. I also liked that the tour included both savory and sweet elements, so it gave a fuller picture of local flavors. This is a great option if you want something easy, tasty, and culturally interesting without taking up a whole day.

I joined this tour during a work trip and honestly did not expect it to be one of the highlights of my time in Almaty. It was a very smart format: enough walking to see the city properly, enough tastings to feel like you really explored local flavors, and enough storytelling to give context without slowing the pace. The stop at Zeleny Bazar stood out because it added that classic Silk Road market feel, while the Rakhat Candy Factory gave the experience a lighter, more playful ending. The tour felt polished, but not overly formal. I would absolutely recommend it for anyone who wants a good first impression of Almaty.

This was exactly the kind of city experience we were hoping for. We wanted something local, walkable, and food-focused, but also a tour that would help us connect with the city itself. The itinerary did that very well. Starting near the Bauyrzhan Momyshuly monument and moving through the historic center gave the walk a nice sense of progression. The stops around Panfilov Park, the cathedral, and the bazaar made the tour feel layered, while the tastings gave it warmth and personality. I especially enjoyed the combination of everyday local culture and sweeter highlights toward the end. A very pleasant way to spend half a day in Almaty.
