History

The State Military-Historical Museum of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan was established on December 1, 2015, at the initiative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main task of the museum is to enhance military-patriotic education among the youth through museum and military-historical work. When creating the museum, foreign experience in establishing modern military-museum complexes in foreign armies was taken into account. The museum plays an important role in preserving material and spiritual values, and the scientific research conducted at the museum site promotes the dissemination of its results. There are 7 exhibition halls open to visitors, organized chronologically according to the military history of Kazakhstan: Atrium "Mäñgilik El", "Antiquity – 19th Century", "Military History of the 20th Century", "Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "History of Tank Troops", "Weapons of the 20th-21st Centuries"; "Hall of Structural Units and Other Military Formations". The museum grounds also feature an open-air military equipment pavilion, where visitors can see weapons and military equipment from the 20th century. The museum's collection contains rare and unique exhibits symbolizing the monuments of military history and culture of the Kazakh people from ancient times to the present. The collection includes about 20,000 museum items, including author collections and private collections transferred to the museum under the condition of inclusion in the permanent exhibition. The collection is constantly being updated and includes the best contemporary works. Information resource:
