Kazakh music resonates here

The Memorial Museum of Nurgisa Tlendiev is dedicated to a person whose music has become part of cultural memory. The exhibition is composed of personal belongings, sheet music, photographs, and documents, and most importantly, it allows one to feel the scale of the personality through details and atmosphere.
Here, it's easy to imagine the creative process: a workspace, handwritten notes, instruments. If you're looking for inspiration and a “quiet” cultural experience in Almaty, this is a great place.
History
Tlendiev worked as a composer and conductor, wrote music for stage and film, and engaged in pedagogy. The museum helps to see how Kazakh musical culture of the 20th century was formed and why his name is so often mentioned alongside the words “national heritage.”
In addition to the permanent exhibition, lectures and chamber events can take place here — thus, music continues to live not only in recordings but also in the present day.
