History
In the heart of Astana, among modern buildings and bustling streets, stands a cozy wooden house from the early 20th century — the Saken Seifullin State Museum. This is not just a museum, but a place where time seems to stand still. Here, you will feel the atmosphere of old Akmolinsk and learn about the man who became a symbol of Kazakh intelligentsia and one of the founders of 20th-century Kazakh literature. The museum's exhibition includes over 6,000 unique exhibits — from personal belongings and manuscripts of Seifullin to rare photographs and documents that tell the story of the life and fate of the outstanding writer, poet, and statesman. Each room breathes history: the writing desk where works were created, an antique piano, books, clothing, and photographs create a vivid image of the era. The museum is located in an old mansion — an architectural monument that has preserved the spirit of the early 20th century. Literary evenings, themed tours, meetings with writers, and interactive programs take place here, making the visit especially engaging. Tip: be sure to take a guided tour — the museum guides share not just facts, but stories that bring Seifullin's life to life and showcase his contribution to the development of Kazakh culture.
