The Naz Dance Theater is a professional state company in Astana that focuses on performances of folk, ethnic, and contemporary dance. Since 2007, it has been officially transformed into the State Dance Theater. The founders are choreographers Yerkebulan and Kadisha Agimbaev. The artistic director and chief choreographer is Kadisha Agimbaeva.

History

In 1999, a professional folk dance ensemble "Naz" was established based on the State Philharmonic of Astana. On March 1, 2007, by the decision of the Akimat of Astana, the ensemble was transformed into the State Communal Enterprise "State Dance Theater 'Naz'". The purpose of the theater's activities is to promote national folklore and develop Kazakh folk dance. The State Dance Theater 'Naz' has a seating capacity of 200. Year of construction: 1962. Total area: 1180.7 sq. m. Number of floors: 3. Area of the auditorium: 253.2 sq. m.
